Both are good. The right choice depends on how your team already works, what devices you own, and who supports it afterwards.
Getting off free personal email onto a proper domain (you@yourbusiness.co.tz) is one of the cheapest credibility upgrades available. The platform you choose matters less than doing it properly.
Choose Google Workspace if
- Your team already lives in Gmail, Docs and Sheets.
- People work mostly from browsers, phones and mixed devices.
- You want the simplest possible admin experience.
Choose Microsoft 365 if
- You rely on advanced Excel, Word formatting or desktop Outlook.
- You need installed desktop apps on Windows machines.
- You work with partners or donors who expect Office file fidelity.
What actually goes wrong
Migrations often fail on the boring details: domain records, old mail that never moves across, shared drives with no owner, and nobody holding the admin account. Plan those first, migrate outside working hours where possible, and provide support during the transition.
